AKW (DLP) is a company specialised in the design, development and manufacture of products for people with reduced mobility to enable them to live independently in their own homes, particularly focused on bathrooms and kitchens. My relationship as a contractor for DLP (AKW's umbrella company) started in August 2021. During this period I have assisted mostly on the marketing side of the business by producing technical illustrations and instructions that transmit accurate information to the users and designing packaging for the products. These designs have all been adapted for sales in UK, USA and Europe markets.
We are more than graphics, more than design, more than books and statistics. We are students, designers, friends, musicians, photographers, writers. We are this and much more. This was supposed to be a yearbook, but it is a book about people.
Enxertias is a 2nd edition handbook for amateurs and professionals. “(...) it is oriented according to two main aspects: a theoretical component of the root and stem’s organogram and the physiology, identification and objectives of the grafts; the identification of plant tissues, the timings and conditions; practical examples and the processes of how to graft some plant species according to their vegetative development.“
This little book is a very personal project, that contains work from each member of my family: poetry written by my Mother, photography captured by my Father and an introduction written by my big sister. I - the youngest member of the team - decided to give them shape, in order to create a physical record of our life as a Family.
This publication was created to express feelings that are familiar to me, but that memory tends not to retain, through texts and photographs. For this reason, I decided to call it a “self-recognition publication”, since that is the main motivation for this project... the self-recognition and memory recall.

“The prestress forces applied to the structures and the structural elements are permanent but are not constant throughout the elements, nor in time. This spatial and temporal variation of pre-effort is called prestress losses. Usually losses are divided into two types: instantaneous and deferred. The instantaneous losses are those that occur at the moment of the application of the load and can happen due to several causes, depending on the type of system used, such as the friction between the armatures and the element, the displacement of the mooring devices of the armatures, the concrete deformation or the temperature decrease. The deferred losses are those that occur due to the variation of the materials’ properties and they happen during the time of construction. The causes for these losses are the concrete’s shrinkage and urgency and the steels’ relaxation.”
Um Delicado Sentido de Equilíbrio
This book (written by Nuno Sousa) resulted from a partnership with the Publisher Juicy Records. Three years after the first edition, this Company decided to launch a second one, since many people didn’t have the chance to acquire it. In addition to the pagination and design of the book, I filmed and edited a promotional video and took care of the pre-printing requirements for the promotional t-shirt that was sold in the book launch events that took place in Galeria Gabinete, in Penafiel and Sala Fantasma, in Lisbon, both in Portugal.
This work intends to be an easy-to-use tool for the engineers and technicians involved in a substation project’s coordination, assembly and inspection, presenting the normative and regulatory documents, the basic configurations and principles of the substations, the works to be carried out, the construction processes, tools and assembly facilities and the systems and equipment that make up the substations and their technical characteristics.

“This work intends to be, above all, a didactic tool to support electrotechnical engineering students, as well as technicians responsible for the design, execution and operation of electrical installations. It is a practical study and work tool for normative and regulatory knowledge about the dimensioning and protection of electrical conduits of the various electrotechnical agents (...) in order to maximize safety, reliability and functionality as well as the costs of running and operating the facility.“
